We made it happen - the big trip to Germany and France! The World Cup ("der Fussball-Weltmeisterschaft 2006") was the excuse, but we covered a lot of territory away from the games. We found a lot of internet cafes along the way to keep up to date with what was happening!
Woohoo! Long flight, no problems. We got in to Frankfurt around 11:30, cleared customs, and caught the train to Düsseldorf. We're staying about twenty minutes outside the city center. The kids were exhausted, but stayed awake until 8:00, and then crashed big time.
Got a thing about soccer - playing, coaching, and watching. Actually, there's not enough time usually to watch! So it's particularly cool that we get to see the World Cup live!
