More Paris! The Louvre and the Tower by night

At the entrance to the LouvreOn Monday the 19th, we got out of the hotel a little late, and took the ride up to the top of the Eiffel Tower. The tower itself was great, but the view was a little fuzzy. Back down at the bottom on the Batobus, we slowly got the kids over to the Louvre. Kenny took charge of the map, and took us straight away to the Mona Lisa, where there was a special viewing rail for kids and wheelchairs. Bon idea! More photos later. (Look for UPDATE)
at the Mona LisaWe tried to stop in at the Palais de la Découverte (science and technology museum), but it's closed on Mondays, naturally! We wandered instead to the Champs Elysées and up to the Arche de Triomphe, then headed back to the hotel to nap the kids for a little while. I took a little time to make our first posting from Paris, and at €13/hr from this part of Paris, it's a far cry from the cheap rates of München.
We went back down to dinner in the Place Franklin Roosevelt, along the Champs Elysées. The boys got their fix of soccer on the restaurant TV, and we still had time for a beautiful view of the Tower at night.

More later on the Musée D'Orsay and Montmartre. We're in Strasbourg tonight, and heading for Nurnberg for the showdown between the USA and Ghana tomorrow. It's a huge game for both teams. (Our money is on Ghana, I think!) Cross your fingers, and start the chant now!

Just turned on the game to start recording it and saw Kenny flash on the screen before I could get the tape going. I have to head out, but we'll watch the game later

Hallo Rob,

bad game for USA yesterday. Didn't you cheer enough for them?

Watch out for Bruno (JJ1) our famous 'Problembär' while you are in Garmisch. Yesterday he escaped from his hunters again.

Viel Spaß auf der Zugspitze!

Gruß,
Sonja
